Country Analysis Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words
Nation Analysis - Essay Example Pioneers who are alluring are seen to strongly affect their fan base or supporters (Sotik et al 2002). Such pioneers show predominance, fearlessness and extraversion. They utilize enthusiastic interests rather than power (Yulk 2006) to evoke acquiescence from devotees. Considering France, this type of initiative has been adjusted well indeed. Notwithstanding the French being aggregate, they were not fit to be exposed to power. Also, France will in general deject compulsion into changing their ways. Such conditions are constantly required from devotees propelled by transformational initiative (Strang 2005). In opposite, French supporters are probably going to be affected by a pioneer who is alluring as they have a sentiment of dutifulness to him. This interests to the French as they have confidence in through and through freedom and the option to do anything they desire (laizzes faire). The comparability between the estimation of adherents and vision in an appealling pioneer and followersââ¬â¢ origination show why the style is powerful in France. The style is pertinent to magnetic administration yet direct methodology in this style has the effect. The writing inferred transformational administration made the devotees steadfast, trust and appreciate and have regard for the pioneers while the supporters had the inspiration to reach out past desire. In different investigations, there was a recommendation that transformational initiative changed and devotees be actuated by giving them guidelines on criticality of goals to accomplish. In this way, the pioneers made devotees to be instigated to surrender their goals for teamââ¬â¢s or organizationââ¬â¢s advantage. In his past works, Yulk (2006) expressed that possibilities wherein transformational style was likely to spring was in a precarious and dynamic condition, an inviting and adaptable one to advancement. In any case, the French never believed advancement invitingness to be a

Ethics n whistleblowing Outline Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2750 words
Morals n whistleblowing - Outline Example ....14 According to measurements distributed by Public Concern at Work (www.pcaw.co.uk) an ever increasing number of individuals are willing to whistleblow about wrong doing in the working environment. Considering this, assess how associations can build up a compelling way to deal with working environment whistleblowing which assesses the necessities of their partners? Presentation Throughout the years, organizations have developed. The days on the mechanical age is finished and the expanding tremendous improvement in innovation has offered path to an improvement in correspondence that might not have been seen over the most recent two decades or something like that. Subsequently, this has made ready for more data and at last information to be open for nearly anybody that has a PC and can ride the web. In like manner, another type of laborers has been distinguished that are increasingly liquid and are very not the same as the customary 8-5 workers. These are called information laborer s and organizations are progressively dependent of these experts as a fundamental piece of their organizations (Serrat 2008). In any case, information laborers or not, organizations and partners must perceive the way that their laborers have quite recently gone more intelligent and are more engaged than any time in recent memory. This brings an increasingly engaged and brilliant type of representatives that are progressively fit for blowing the whistle to point out and possibly put a stop on wrong doings in an organization. This additionally realizes a culture of higher moral gauges wherein representatives stick to standards and qualities in the direct of their work. Whistleblowing as an Ethical Dilemma This basic truth portrayed above has in like manner expanded the chance of representatives blowing the whistle on out of line work rehearses or dangerous working gauges and obviously irregularities or illegal exercises by the organization or by workers, officials or even proprietors of the organization. A few years back, an occurrence struck the consideration of the open when a positioning NHS (National Health Service) official was sacked for supporting a subordinate in an obvious exposeââ¬â¢ of anomalies inside the organisationââ¬â¢s framework. Obviously, the official purpose behind the excusal was not about the whistle blowing occurrence yet about certain issues with respect to the executives. This was very flawed however since the individual being referred to has been with the NHS for longer than 10 years and a half and was an ongoing beneficiary of an administration grant (BBC News 2003). This occurrence can be viewed as an intersection where whistle blowing and morals ran collide with one another. The organization or its administration can't transparently utilize the whistle blowing as motivation to fire a worker that has, well to lay it out plainly, earned the fury of the big enchiladas. Basically, this leads whoever is accountable for dealing with the companyââ¬â¢s issue character to coordinate an ignominious mass migration for the most part for the organization to hide any hint of failure and maintain a strategic distance from a rehash of the episode. Characterizing Whistleblowing is characterized as aâ⬠revelation of illicit, corrupt, or ill-conceived rehearses that are under boss control by either previous or current association individuals to

30 Life Lessons From 30 Years
30 Life Lessons From 30 Years I recently turned 30, and during the journey Iâve learned a great deal. Following are 30 of the most important life lessons from my first 30 years on this planet. 1. We must love. You know the saying, âItâs better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all,â right? I know, we often dismiss cliches with a wave of the hand, but maybe itâs a truth so profound we can discuss it only with aphorisms. Yes, we must love, even if it breaks our heartsâ"because, unless we love, our lives will flash by. 2. Love isnât enough. Although we must love, love is not enough to survive: we must take action to show others we care, to show them we love. Yes, love is a verb. 3. Happiness is not for sale. We canât buy happiness, yet we search the aisles, shelves, and pages of eBay in search of something more, of something to fill the void. The stuff wonât make us happy, thoughâ"not in the long run, anyway. At best, material things will temporarily pacify us. At worst, they will ruin our lives: they will leave us empty, they will leave us depressed, and they will leave us even more aloneâ"alone among a sea of trinkets. The truth is we are all going to die, and heaping our tombs with treasure will not save us from this fate. 4. Success is perspectival. I used to think I was successful because I had a six-figure job my friends and family could be proud of. I thought the house with too many bedrooms would make me look even more successful, as would the luxury car, the tailored suit, the expensive watch, the big screen TV, and all the trappings of the material world. I got it all, and I sure as hell didnât feel successful. Instead, I felt successfool. 5. Make change a must. For the longest time, I knew I wanted to change: unhappy, unsatisfied, and unfulfilled, I knew I didnât have freedomâ"not real freedom. The problem was I knew this intellectually, but not emotionally: I didnât have the feeling in my gut that things must change. I knew they should change, but the change wasnât a must for me, and thus it didnât happen. A decision is not a real decision until it is a must, until you feel it on your nerve-endings, until you are compelled to take action. Once your shoulds have turned into musts, then you are ready for change. 6. The meaning of life. Giving is living. The best way to live a worthwhile life is simple: continuously grow as an individual and contribute to other people in a meaningful way. Growth and contribution: thatâs the meaning of life. 7. Health is underestimated. Our well-being is more important than most of us treat it: without health, nothing else matters. 8. Sentimental items are less important. My mother died when I was 28. It was a difficult time in my life, but it helped me realize our memories arenât in our things: our memories are inside us. 9. Your job is not your mission. At least it wasnât for me, although I treated it like it was for the longest time. I worked so much that the rest of my life suffered. Thereâs nothing wrong with hard work, as long as it doesnât get in the way of lifeâs more important areas: health, relationships, passion. 10. Finding your passion is important. Passion is not preexisting, which means you can cultivate a passion as long as you find something that aligns with your principles and desires. 11. Relationships matter. Every relationshipâ"friendship, romantic, or otherwiseâ"is a series of gives and takes. Every relationship has an Us box. For the relationship to work, both people must contribute toâ"and get something fromâ"that Us box. If you just give but donât get, youâll feel used, exploited, taken advantage of; if you only take but donât give, youâre a parasite, a freeloader, a bottom-feeder. 12. You donât need everyone to like you. We all want to be lovedâ"itâs a mammalian instinctâ"but you canât value every relationship the same, and thus you canât expect everyone to love you the same. Life doesnât work that way. My friend Julien Smith articulates this sentiment very well in his popular essay The Complete Guide to Not Giving a Fuck: âWhen people donât like you, nothing actually happens. The world does not end. You donât feel them breathing down your neck. In fact, the more you ignore them and just go about your business, the better off you are.â 13. Status is a misnomer. Similar to âsuccess,â our culture places an extraordinary emphasis on material wealth as a sign of true wealth, and yet I know too many people of supposed âstatusâ who are miserable. They donât seem wealthy to me. Oneâs true worth is not determined by his or her net worth. 14. Jealousy is a wasted emotion. Competition breeds jealousy, although we often give it prettier labels like âcompetitive spirit,â âstick-to-itiveness,â or âambition.â Jealousy is ugly, though: it is never a way to express that we careâ"itâs only a channel through which we broadcast our insecurities. 15. Everybody worships something. In his This Is Water commencement speech, my favorite fiction writer, David Foster Wallace, said it best: âThere is no such thing as not worshipping. Everybody worships. The only choice we get is what to worship.â 16. I am not the center of the universe. Itâs difficult to think about the world from a perspective other than our own. We are always worried about whatâs going on in our lives. What does my schedule look like today? What if I lose my job during the next round of layoffs? Why canât I stop smoking? Why am I overweight? Why am I not happy with my life? We are strongly aware of everything connected to our lives, but we are only one ingredient in a much larger recipe. 17. Awareness is the most precious freedom. Minimalism is a tool to rid ourselves of excess in favor of a deliberate life: it is a tool to take a seemingly intricate and convoluted world, cluttered with its endless embellishments, and make it simpler, easier, realer. It is unimaginably hard to remain conscious, attentive, and aware. It is difficult not to fall back into a trance-like state, surrounded by the trappings and obstructions of the tiring world around usâ"but it is crucial to do so, for this is real freedom. 18. Be on the mountain. I use this term as a metaphor for living in the moment. When you climb to the peak, donât immediately plan your descent. Enjoy the view. Be on the mountain. Just be. 19. We are scared for no reason. Just ask yourself, âWhat am I afraid of?â We are often scared of things that donât have a real effect on our lives (or that we canât control, so weâre worrying for no reason). 20. Change is growth. We all want a different outcome, and yet most of us donât want any change in our lives. Change equals uncertainty, and uncertainty equals discomfort, and discomfort isnât fun. But when we learn to enjoy the process of changeâ"when we chose to look at uncertainty as varietyâ"then we get to reap all the rewards of change. That is how we grow. 21. Pretending to be perfect doesnât make us perfect. I am not perfect, and I never will be. I make mistakes and bad decisions, and I fail at times. I stumble, I fall. I am humanâ"a mixed bag, nuanced, the darkness and the lightâ"as are you. And you are beautiful. 22. The past does not equal the future. My words are my words, and I canât take them back. You canât change the past, so itâs important to focus on the present. If the past equaled the future, then your windshield would be of no use to you: you would simply drive with your eyes glued to the rearview mirror. But driving this wayâ"looking only behind youâ"is a sure-fire way to crash. 23. Pain can be useful, but not suffering. Pain lets us know something is wrong: it indicates we must change what weâre doing. Suffering, though, is a choice, and we can choose to stop suffering, to learn a lesson from the pain and move on with our lives. 24. Doubt kills. The person who stops you from doing everything you want to do, who stops you from being completely free, who stops you from being healthy, happy, and passionateâ"is you. 25. Itâs okay to wait. Sometimes itâs okay to wait a little longer for something. Why rush if you donât have to? Why not enjoy the journey? 26. Honesty is important. Honesty, at the most simple level, is telling the truthâ"not lying. Itâs supremely important to be honest, and itâs hurtful when youâre not, but 27. Openness is just as important as honesty. Openness is more complicated than honesty: openness involves being honest while painting an accurate picture, shooting straight, not misleading other people, and being real. Openness is far more subjective, and you must be honest with yourself before you can be open with others. This doesnât mean you must put your entire life on display: some things are private, and thatâs okay, too. 28. Getting peopleâs buy-in. Adding value to other people is the only way to get their buy-in. When I managed a large team of people, I constantly asked them questions like, âHow did you add value this week?â I also asked that question of myself, and I would share with my team how I added value that week. Thatâs how I got their buy-in. 29. Hype is cancerous. So often we fall for the hype (âBuy More, Save More!â and âThree Day Sale!â), and we are suckered into rash buying decisions because of scarcity and a false sense of urgency. We can train ourselves, however, to not only resist such hype, but to have a vitriolic reaction to the hypeâ"to elicit a response so off-putting that we avoid anything thatâs hyped. When weâre aware of the world around us, we can willfully develop a hype allergy. 30. Iâm still trying to figure it all out. I donât intend to promulgate my views and opinions as some sort of maxims by which you should live your life. What works for me, may not work for you. Hell, sometimes it doesnât even work for me. Movie Review The Movie, Philadelphia And A Dumb Man Who...
Tom Hanks once said, ââ¬Å"Sometimes a man just wants the impossible.â⬠In his lifetime, most would agree that Hanks achieved the impossible through his acting career; he personalized many influential movie parts from a gay lawyer with AIDS in the movie Philadelphia to a dumb man who experienced many important events throughout history in Forrest Gump. This shift in the acting world happened on July 9, 1956 when a star was born. Thomas Jeffrey Hanks was born in Concord, California; his parents names are Janet Marylyn Frager and Amos Mefford Hanks. Tom Hanks lived with his father after his parents got divorced at the age of five. His two older siblings also stayed with him and his father while his younger sibling stayed with his mother; their names were Jim Hanks, Sandra Hanks, and Larry Hanks (Biography.com). Hanksââ¬â¢ father moved their family from state to state until they finally settled in Oakland, California where Tom attended high school. After graduating in 1974, Tom Hanks attended a junior college in Hayward California called Chabot Community College. During his time at Hayward, he read and watched a play called the Iceman Cometh by Eugene O Neill; this sparked his interest in acting. He decided to pursue a career in acting and transferred in the theater program at California State University in Sacramento (Biography.com). Implementation Of The Following Strategies For Developing...
Date: July 6th, 2015 To: John Smith, UNESCO chairman From: Mboy Embanglian Gabriela Subject: Improving Education in developing countries Mr. John Smith, attached is a recommendation on how to improve education in most developing countries. After making some researches and reading several educational articles, I recommend the implementation of the following strategies mentioned below to enhance education in developing countries. In case of any questions, I will be much honored to arrange a meeting with you at your convenience with other members of interest. Mboy Embanglian Gabriela Mr. John Smith, Seventy five percent of children in developing countries suffer from malnutrition, which result in development disorder. Consequently, theâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦In addition to the above mentioned, job opportunities in developing countries is very low, even after completing higher education. Hence children in developing counties prefer to forgo their education, and completely invest in farm work or earn a trade (Yuthas, Epstein, Kristi, 2012). To continue, most teachers in developing countries lack training, hence the children are limited to knowledge in sense that even the ones who succeed to complete primary school may lack the basic skills in reading and writing (The situation in developing countries, 2015). Mostly outdated methods of learning are implemented. However, the teachers that have the training are not well paid, and they work under unfavorable conditions. They mostly teach several shifts a day with a large population of children. All this summed up does not encourage them to come for their classes Also, schools in developing countries have little or no equipment to help in the studentsââ¬â¢ education; such as computer labs, boards. There is also no funding to cover some utilities such as water, electricity or transport for the children (The situation in developing countries, 2015). The brilliant student in developing countries have the disadvantage of not been able to further their education due to lack of higher education, hence they end up working in the farm not having the opportunity to make use of their knowledge. American History 1941 to Present Mormon Fundamentalists Free Essays
The Mormon presence in America has been historically influential to the nation, but is often overlooked or understated in non-Mormon institutions despite the fact their existence dates back to 1823. Under the Banner of Heaven: A Story of Violent Faith by Jon Krakauer is a non-fiction historical account of the Mormon religion, from its birth under the prophet Joseph Smith, to present times with the polygamy practicing fundamentalists and the milder mainstream Latter Day Saint church existing with identical core beliefs, but on opposite sides of the spectrum in terms of practices. The section of the book regarding the extreme fundamentalists, their history, and their current practices was an interesting look into a very different way of life. We will write a custom essay sample on American History 1941 to Present Mormon Fundamentalists or any similar topic only for you Order Now The split in the Mormon Church presented itself when the principle of polygamy was retracted by the prophet Wilford Woodruff. Those that accepted this revelation are the mass that is now called The Church of Latter Day Saints. Those that felt the church only banned polygamy to try and gain acceptance by the United States government still felt that it was a divine principle necessary for getting into heaven, and scattered to secluded areas across the North American continent to practice their lifestyle. Several factions of Mormon extremists exist in Canada, the United States, and Mexico. The primary reason that so many factions exist is based on one of the basic building blocks of the church. All Mormons followers have a close relationship with God and are able to speak with him. The laws of the church can change as the prophets receive their revelations. Essentially, anyone can declare themselves a prophet, and anyone can receive a revelation. As self proclaimed prophets received divine revelations they would take a group of followers and establish their own settlement to reproduce more members. The most well known of these factions if the Fundamentalist Latter Day Saints (FLDS) with approximately 10,000 members located in Colorado City, Arizona and Hildale, Utah. The FLDS territory, formerly known as Short Creek, was founded by John Y. Barlow to preserve the sanctity of polygamy. After Barlowââ¬â¢s death Joseph Musser was the next prophet in line of succession. He presided over the sect during the Short Creek Raid of 1953 when Arizona state police officers and the National Guard invaded the compound and arrested every member of the church, regardless of age or gender. Leroy Johnson, or ââ¬Å"Uncle Royâ⬠as he was affectionately called, led the sect from 1954 to 1986. After the death of Johnson in 1986 Rulon Jeffs, also called ââ¬Å"Uncle Rulonâ⬠took over as prophet. Uncle Rulon was thought to be ââ¬Å"the one mighty and strongâ⬠that would live forever, rule at the end of days, and carry the church to eternal salvation as stated by the book of Mormon. This considered it was a shock to the FLDS community when Uncle Rulon died in 2002 at the age of 92. Warren Jeffs, one of Rulonââ¬â¢s sons out of an estimated 60-65 children fathered by the late prophet, assumed leadership after his fatherââ¬â¢s death. He ruled by fear and tyranny. Under his term, the number of young boys thrown out of the church for minor infractions increased exponentially. These ââ¬Å"Lost Boysâ⬠would be kicked out for violations such as having a crush on a girl, or wearing a shirt with sleeves that were too short, or if the prophet just decided to deem them unworthy. A church member then drives the teenage boys out of town and dumps them off at the side of the road with no food, money, or place to go. Jeffs started kicking out boys in droves so that he could assign more young girls in the community to middle aged men, including him. He decided that all pets and animals in the compound should be killed, banned children from going to public school, and forbade medical treatment to ailing church members. The FLDS is currently under the leadership of an unknown prophet after Jeffs was sentenced on November 20, 2007 to 10 years to life in the Utah State Prison on charges of sexual conduct with minors and rape as an accomplice. To this day in Colorado City it is common for cousins, stepfathers and stepdaughters, non-biological uncles and nieces, or fathers and adopted children to marry. Incestuous relationships have caused an unusually high rate of birth defects. Three wives is the minimum for a man to receive the highest level of salvation in the afterlife. The first marriage is considered legal by law. All marriages after are ââ¬Å"celestial marriagesâ⬠only recognized by the FLDS. The women bound to men by celestial marriage are able to collect welfare for all of their kids because they are single parents. This practice is called ââ¬Å"bleeding the beastâ⬠and is encouraged among members. The rules of dress are strictly adhered to: men wear long sleeved shirts and pants in all seasons and women wear ankle length long sleeved dresses. Both sexes clothing is very plain and they must wear long underwear at all times. Under the Banner of Heaven was unbiased and fact based. Krakauer included personal accounts of stories of the religious fanaticism that has led to practices in the FLDS that range from horrifying to intriguing. It was difficult to imagine the level of strength and conviction that motivates members to live out their everyday lives in this community. Krakauer was able to deliver these stories and the historical statistics behind them in a non-judgmental or opinionated manner, which gives the book a genuine and legitimate base. He does not come off as a religion hater or Mormon racist that is condemning the choices made by the prophets or the people. The historical account of the Mormon religion as a whole was detailed and deliberate, which was helpful in understanding how one religion ended up existing in such a multitude of diverse sects. It was an experience to be introduced to a different view of American history; one that is definitely not discussed in the standard textbooks. References Krakauer, Jon (2004).
